Two New Dates Added for Stuff The Bus Program On Tax Free Weekend.

The United Way of Pioneer Valley is teaming up with Peter Pan Bus Lines to add two new dates for the Second Annual Stuff The Bus program.

Many children in our communities facing homelessness do not have the basic supplies they need to go back to school, and this drive is to make sure they have what is needed to get off on the right foot.

The campaign – our second in 2011 – will run this Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th, and is soliciting donations for new school supplies to be distributed to the children in Springfield, Chicopee, Holyoke, Westfield and West Springfield that are homeless.

This weekend – yes, Tax Free Weekend – Peter Pan Bus Lines will position a bus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th at the Springfield Staples Plaza on Boston Road, and on Sunday, August 14th at the Century Shopping Center on Memorial Avenue in West Springfield from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Volunteers will be collecting new supplies and individuals are encouraged to donate at one of the drop-off sites. Financial contributions are also welcome and will be used to purchase additional supplies as needed.
