Meet the 2011 Ultimate Prom Contest Winner

Dominick Whitley is this year’s 2011 Ultimate prom contest winner, sponsored by MassLive.com, The Republican, Peter Pan Bus Lines and other area businesses.

A senior at Central, Dominick is co-captain of the Central High School football team, is headed for Becker College where he will continue to play football.

Competition for the grand prize in the Ultimate Prom contest was tough this year. MassLive.com was very pleased to have received a record number of entries in this year’s contest but at the same time the feast of wonderful essays made selecting a winner a very difficult decision for judges Jim Madigan of WGBY, Sheryl Shinn of Hampden Bank, Shannon Hegy of WGGB and Brenda Garton of WNEC.

Dominick’s winning essay focused on the positive effects that football has had on all aspects his life. Before giving thanks to his coaches, guidance counselors and especially his mother for their support Dominick states “I have gained so much understanding about life and realized that we are the future and what we put into this world is what we are going to get out of it – No more and no less! I am better person for it.”

Dominick has worked hard both on and off the gridiron to improve his own future and that of his fellow teammates. It is our pleasure to announce that Dominick Whitley is the winner of the 2011 Ultimate Prom contest. He will receive a tuxedo rental from Formal Affair, his date will receive a dress from Just B, they will also receive flowers from Durocher Florist, a hair cut for him and styling & makeup for her from DiGrigoli Salon, their prom will be documented through photographs by Seth Kaye of Seth Kaye Photography. Dominick and his friends will be driven to and from prom aboard the Peter Pan double decker bus.
